Guest scores and detailed hotel feedback
The hotel had clean rooms and friendly staff, making for a comfortable stay. However, the outdated room decor was a downside. The convenient parking and safe atmosphere made the stay pleasant.
The hotel is situated in a convenient area near the Convention Center and within easy walking distance to various attractions. The rooms were equipped with excellent air conditioning, which was a lifesaver during hot and humid weather, although on the smaller side and with a slow-cooking microwave. The service was exceptional, with staff being friendly, helpful, and making guests feel welcomed. While the location offers a vibrant neighborhood with plenty of dining options, there were occasional challenges with key access and homelessness in the vicinity, yet the overall safety was maintained during evening strolls. Dining, known in advance, at East Portland on Sandy Blvd impressed with its fresh products.
The hotel offers basic but very clean and comfortable rooms, though the smell of cleaner to mask odors was off-putting. The service provided was super friendly and helpful, with late-night dining options advised. The location is excellent, right in the heart of the city and close to downtown. However, the dining experience could use improvement with limited breakfast options.
The hotel provided a clean and comfortable stay with friendly staff. The location was central with plenty of nearby dining options. However, the morning nuclear testing next door was a major drawback.
Being in a corner of the building made the room a bit small, and there wasn't enough room between the edge of the bed and the entrance to the bathroom. The room was a bit shabby with mildew around the bottom of the shower stall, hairs on the bath towels, no hair blower, musty-smelling closet, and no chain or backup locking mechanism for the door. However, it looked spotless and brand new.
My stay at the hotel had its ups and downs. The rooms were not super clean; I noticed handprints on the bed headboard, and the street noise was a bit bothersome given the location above a major street. However, the bed was comfortable enough, and the water pressure in the shower was decent. The service, on the other hand, was outstanding. The staff went the extra mile to make my stay enjoyable, even providing a clever solution for a small issue. The location was excellent, just a few blocks from downtown Portland, allowing easy access to popular attractions. Although the dining options were limited, the hotel's proximity to famous spots like Fire on the Mountain and Voodoo Doughnuts made up for it.
I couldn't have asked for a better location; the hotel is within walking distance to many breweries, bars, and restaurants, making it a fantastic spot for a visit to Portland. The rooms, although a bit dated in decor, were exceptionally clean. The service was top-notch, with the staff being incredibly friendly and helpful. The property is a great option if you are on a budget for work in Portland.
